Funeral Home here with Rev. John D. Kerr officiating. Mrs. Chilcote died March 6, 1969, at Pearl
Terrace Manor in Bedford. Interment
was at Lexington Cemetery near Bedford. Harriett
Luella Parks, daughter
of [John] Marion Parks and Catherine Ragon Parks, was born at Danville, Indiana October 23, 1866.
She was brought to Iowa by her parents when three years of age
and has been a resident of Taylor County since. She
was united in marriage to David E. [lmer] Chilcote at the home of her mother on February 27, 1889.
To this union six daughters were born.
They lived in the home they built in Conway all their married
life until after Mr. Chilcote's death in 1938.
Mrs. Chilcote then moved into an apartment in Bedford and lived
there until the fall of 1957 when she fell and broke her hip and had
been an invalid since. She was the first patient entered into Pearl Terrace Manor
nursing home. She
was one of a family of 11 children; all her brothers and sisters had
preceded her in death, also her parents, one daughter, Beulah Buell
Walker, and four grandsons. Besides

joined the Methodist Church in Conway when a young woman and was a faithful
worker as long as she was able.
If anybody needed her help she was always ready to lend a helping
hand. She always welcomed all who came to visit
her with a handshake and a friendly smile. She
will be greatly missed by all her family and so many, many friends. For the last 20 years she was guest of
honor at a family reunion birthday party and she looked forward to it
from year to year. [Harriett
