Delores
Jean Steeve was born May 25, 1931
near Nodaway in Taylor County, Iowa the daughter of Teddie Oliver McCoy and Bernice Irene Stroud McCoy. She grew up in the Guss area attending country
schools in Gus to the eighth grade. The family then moved to Villisca where she
attended high school, graduating in 1949. On August 3, 1968 she was united in marriage
to Harold Steeve at the United
Methodist Church in Bedford. Together she and Harold moved to the farm south of Bedford. Delores was a wonderful homemaker who greatly enjoyed
raising her children. She was always giving of herself and enjoyed being a part
of their lives. She was a wonderful cook specializing in homemade noodles and
raspberry jelly. She loved family gatherings especially during the holidays.
She liked wearing her jewelry, diamonds and Black hills Gold. She enjoyed
playing the lottery and visiting the casino. Her friends were important to her,
and she liked socializing and drinking coffee with them, which she thought was
very "therapeutic".
Delores is survived by her five children, Norman
Weaver and wife, Charlene and sons, Ryan and Travis of Winchester, Virginia; Kraig Weaver of Fort Dodge, and daughter, Jessika of Villisca, Iowa; Renee White and husband, Dennis and their children, James Dean, Andrea and

Harold
Eugene Steeve was born May 4,
1926 four miles south of Bedford, the son of Adolph Steeve and Bertha Warneke Steeve. He graduated from Bedford High School in 1946.
He worked on the high lines in Texas in the Big Bend area and helped farmers in
Minnesota. In 1952 Harold entered the United States Army, serving in Korea as a mechanic. After the
service he came back home and farmed with his mother. He worked hard and played
hard. On August 3, 1968 Harold was united in marriage to Delores McCoy. The couple continued to live on the family farm, where Harold had spent most of his life.
Having
lived through the Great Depression Harold had the approach, "If you can't afford it, don't buy it. "
He had a great sense of humor and had nicknames for family members, such as,
"Wimpy" and "Old Jake". Harold enjoyed doing things his own, way and was always
young at heart and had many sayings. He loved his cows and working with them.
Conservation and "good sense" were two things that he believed in
when it came to caring for the land. Rather than buy something new if it were
broken, Harold would enjoy
working on it and trying to fix it himself, as he was mechanically minded.
Harold enjoyed many things in life, being outdoors, hunting, fishing,
trapshooting, dog races and he recently got hooked on Bingo. In the last couple
of years he enjoyed telling stories of his life to his grandkids. His family
and grandkids were his pride and joy. In 1982 Harold received a kidney transplant. The gift of this
kidney gave him twenty more years of quality life.

wife Deb, children Amanda and Jacob of Bedford; one daughter, Renee White and husband Dennis, their children, James Dean, Andrea and Ashley of Bedford; brother August
