A Sudden Death

Mrs. [William] Henry Parker [Mary C. Bauchert] died at 3:30 o'clock this Wednesday morning after an illness of only a few hours. The deceased came to this city several weeks ago to help care for her mother, Mrs. Lucy Cole, who died on last Friday and was buried on Sunday. After the funeral Mrs. Parker began arranging to return to her home in St Joseph, Mo., intending to take her departure on the 3:40 passenger Tuesday afternoon. While assisting in preparing dinner at the home of Wm. Dale, she became ill with a severe cramp in the stomach, and gradually grew worse, becoming unconscious until finally death ended her sufferings. Her husband, H.[enry] F. Parker was notified by telegraph and was with his wife when she died, as was also her brother John Beauchart [Bauchert] of Noblesville, Ind.

She leaves a husband and two children to mourn her untimely death. She was a consistent member of the Disciples church, and died as she had lived, trusting in the merits of the sinless One, who had said, "fear not little ones, I will repay."

The funeral services will be conducted from the First Christian church at 3:30 p. m. Thursday, by Elder Richardson.
