[Mary Hedrick Thompson Richardson]

Final Rites Held Here Wed. For Mary Richardson

Funeral services for Mrs. William C. (Mary) Richardson, 87, a native of Bedford, were held Wed., July 23, at Shum-Novinger Funeral Home in Bedford.  Mrs. Richardson died at the Clarinda Municipal Hospital July 20, 1969.  Interment was at Fairview Cemetery, Bedford.

Mary T [sic] [Hedrick] Richardson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. [ames] M. [onroe] Thompson [Martha Hedrick], was born in Bedford, August 16, 1881.

She attended Goucher College in Baltimore and following her stay there she was married to William C. [haplan] Richardson on October 24, 1906.  They made their home in Elk City, Oklahoma, where a son, William C. [haplan] Richardson, Jr., was born.

After the death of her husband she returned to Bedford with her son where she spent the rest of her life.  For the past two years she has been a resident of Pearl Terrace Manor.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church where she was affiliated with the Women's Association.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. [haplan] Richardson, and her son, William C. [haplan] Richardson, Jr.  She was the sole surviving member of her family, which included: Grace T. Dickey, Seth Edward Thompson, Helen T. Guthrie, Ralph W. Thompson, Guy Thompson, John M. Thompson and Lawrence H. Thompson.

Among her survivors are her grandson, Barry [Hedrick] Richardson, and her daughter-in-law, Mrs. William C. Richardson [Margaret], of Rockville Center, New York.  Included in the surviving nieces and nephews are two who reside in Bedford, Carrolle Thompson and Richard Thompson.

Last Rites For Evelyn Long Held Here Tues.

Funeral services for Miss Evelyn Long of Cambridge, Ohio, were held Tues., Mar. 30, at Shum-Novinger Funeral Home in Bedford, conducted by Rev. Darrel L. Draper.  Miss Long died in Cambridge, March 26, 1971.  Interment was at Bedford Cemetery, Bedford.

Miss Long was the daughter of William G. and Mary [Elizabeth Kemery] Long.  She is survived by a nephew, Charles Mason of Omaha, Nebr.  Among cousins are Alice Hale, Charles Hale, Sr., Mrs. James S. Taylor and Charles Hale, Jr., Minnie Hoover, Georgia [Kemery] Ford, Karl Kemery, Belle Davidson, Hazel Davidson and Violet Haynie of Bedford

Rites Today for Glenn Van Camp

Funeral services for Glenn Van Camp will be held Thurs., May 6, at Shum-Novinger Funeral Home here at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. Ray McCain. Mr. Van Camp died Monday night at his Bedford home.  Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery.

Included in his survivors are his wife, Gladys.

Final Rites Held In Bedford for Glenn Van Camp

Funeral services for Glenn Van Camp, 60, of Bedford, held May 6 at Shum-Novinger Funeral Home here, were conducted by Rev. Ray McCain.  Mr. Van Camp died at his Bedford home May 3, 1971.  Interment was at Fairview Cemetery, Bedford.

Glenn George Van Camp, youngest son of David Van Camp and Abigail Ashton Van Camp, was born January 22, 1911, south of Bedford.

He attended the rural schools near his home, and also the Bedford High School.

On January 21, 1933, he was united in marriage to Gladys Pearl Thompson.  The couple lived on farms in the Bedford area for a number of years, then moved to Bedford where he was engaged in the portable mill business.

Hoping for an improvement in Glenn's health the couple moved to Arizona in 1966 where they spent one year.

When a young man he became a member of the Berea Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Elroy.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys, three sisters, Mrs. W. [illiam] K. [insey] John [Esther], Mrs. August Warneke [Vera] and Mrs. Dale Loucks [Verta]; a sister-in-law, Maude of California; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and a host of friends.

His valiant spirit and determination throughout his long illness was a source of inspiration to his many friends.
