M. Cour, 57, Holy Cross Alumna Margaret McCloud Cour, 57, widow of William J. [oseph] Cour, chairman of the Impartial Jurisdictional Disputes
Board for Settlement of Jurisdictional Disputes in the construction
industry, died of cancer Tuesday at her home, 4509 Elm St., Chevy Chase. Mrs. Cour was born in Washington and was a graduate
of Holy Cross Academy. She is survived by a son, William K. [evin] Cour,
of Burke, Va.; her mother, Mrs. George [Mullin] McCloud [Anastasia
Hauber] of Chevy Chase; a brother, George J. [ohn] McCloud of Annandale, and a sister, Mrs. E. [dward] Barron
Batchelder [Anastasia],
of Washington. The family requests

Rites Held August 30 Funeral services for Robert
Glenn
Leighton, 48, of Denver,
Colo., formerly of Bedford, were held August 30 at Shum-Novinger Funeral
Home in Bedford with Carl Cummings officiating. Mr. Leighton died August 26, 1975, at
Denver. Interment was at
Memory Cemetery, New Market, Iowa. Robert Glenn Leighton, son of Glenn and Floris Campbell Leighton, was born at Lenox, Iowa, November 12, 1926. He grew to maturity in the Bedford area where he
attended the public schools and graduated from the Bedford High School
in the Class of 1944. On July 16, 1953, he was united in marriage to Mary
Keller at Nebraska City,
Nebraska, and they lived for several years in Montana where he was employed
by the Federal Highway Administration.
He was employed by Taylor County for five years prior to moving
to Montana. About three
years ago they moved to Denver, Colorado, where they have since continued
to reside. He was a Veteran of World War II, having served in
the southwest Pacific and with the Army of Occupation in Japan. He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn
Leighton, who died September
17, 1974; a brother, Harry,
and a sister, Kathryn Elaine. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary; three sons: Larry Leighton and his wife, Kay, Alan
and Michael Leighton;
two daughters: Lana Leighton
and Joyce Carlson,
and her husband, David; two brothers: Richard of New Market, Iowa, and Donovan of Winside, Nebr.; nieces and nephews; other relatives
and many friends. Early in his youth
he became a member of the Christian Church.
Robert was a kind and considerate husband, father, son and brother,
and he will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him. Bedford Free
Press Thursday September 26, 1912 p. 5 Caleb Green, who resided for many years just southwest of town, moving to Macon, Mo., a few years go, died at the home of his sister, near Rio, Ill., and the remains were brought back here for burial Wednesday. Interment was in Graceland Cemetery

Elizabeth McCloud Green] Bedford Free Press Thursday September 19, 1907 Mrs. Delphia Green Dead. Mrs. Delphia [Elizabeth McCloud] Green was born near Zanesville, Ohio, in [June 20] 1848,
and died at her home in Anabel, [Macon County] Mo., Sept. 14, 1907. The remains were brought here for burial,
arriving Monday and on Tuesday the funeral was held at the McCloud home,
conducted by Rev. Wm. B. Thompson, assisted by Rev. Wm. Cobb, and interment
was held in the Titus [Graceland] Cemetery. When a child of 9 years she came to Taylor County and lived here until
about 5 years go, when she moved to Anabel, [Macon County] Mo. About 1870 she was united in marriage
to Mr. [Caleb] Green,
and to them one child, a son, Arthur,
was born. She united with
the M. E. church at Bedford when but nineteen years of age, and has
always lived a conscientious, Christian life since.
She was a sister to the late J. [ohn] S. [elf] McCloud, and Mrs. Fannie Simpson, of Des Moines. Her husband and her son and his family accompanied the remains
here. To the bereaved relatives the sympathy of all is extended. |
