Funeral Friday For Mrs. Clute

Mrs. Clara Clute, 81, died at her home Wednesday afternoon. She had been ill for a short time with the flu and a heart condition. Funeral services were Friday at the United Presbyterian Church, conducted by the Rev James Eddy. Burial was at Bedford.

Obituary

Clara Eltha Clute, daughter of Harley U. [mberfield] and Mary Ann [Tucker] Greenlee was born at Bedford, on January 31, 1876 and passed away at her home in Lenox at the age of 81 years, 9 months and 27 days.

Her parents were long time residents of Bedford. On Christmas Day, 1895, Clara was married to Fred M. [artin] Clute, who preceded her in death Jan 1, 1957. To this union were born four daughters and one son. One of the daughters, Maxine, died in infancy.

The first years of their married life were spent in Bedford. In 1914 they moved to Clearfield making their home there until 1932, when they moved to Lenox. On December 25, 1956 they celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary.

Mrs. Clute was a member of Lenox United Presbyterian Church, a member of Eastern Star, Royal Neighbors and the Harmony Reading Circle.

She is survived by her four children, Mrs. Helen Ethington of Ames; Mrs. Vesta Bailey of Diagonal; Mrs. Pauline Williams of Detroit, Mich.; and George E. Clute of Monroe, Mich.; nine grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Hattie Nash of Sheridan, Mo.; Mrs. Carrie Martin of Cody, Wyo.; and Mrs. Huldah Dietzel of St. Joseph, Mo.

She will be greatly missed by the family, relatives and her many friends.

Pallbearers at the funeral were grandsons of Mrs. Clute, Dean Ethington, Claire Ethington, Dale Ethington, Loren Bailey, Clare Russie and Gerald Cacy.
