001 Velma Lucille (McAlpin) Timmerman was born September 10, 1918 in the New Market, Iowa area to Russell Ora and Hazel Lulu (Taylor) McAlpin. She graduated from Villisca High School in the Class of 1936. Lucille married James Henry Timmerman on June 10, 1936 in Rockport, Missouri.

Lucille worked as a farmwife raising her three sons. She was a great cook and loved her family and family get togethers. Her favorite hobbies were watching ice skating and tennis on the television, especially Rafael Nadal.

Lucille passed away at the age of 93 on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and son Lonnie D. Timmerman and his wife Paula.

Surviving Lucille are her sons: Larry Robert Timmerman and wife Carolyn of Essex, Connecticut and Lyle Dean Timmerman and wife Sue of Nodaway, Iowa; grandchildren: Jenice Hammitt and husband Gary of Vincent, Iowa, Lesley Timmerman of Des Moines, Iowa, Lisa Jackson and husband Steve of Des Moines, Iowa, Bernie Timmerman of Johnston, Iowa, Chris Timmerman of Portland, Oregon, Erik Timmerman and wife Bonnie of Morrisville, Vermont, Cole Timmerman and wife Denise of Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, David Timmerman and wife Kim of Earlham, Iowa and Andy Timmerman and wife Liz of Nodaway, Iowa; 16 great grandchildren; sister Elnora Williams and husband Calvin of Clarinda, Iowa; brother James McAlpin and wife Louvada of New Market, Iowa.

Funeral services for Velma Lucille will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Wolfe Funeral Home in Villisca. Burial will follow the service in the Nodaway Cemetery in Nodaway, Iowa. Visitation is schedule for one hour prior to the service starting at 9:30 a.m. at Wolfe Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Nodaway Methodist Church.

Funeral services for Hallie Neuhardt, age 97, of Lenox, who died Sunday, July 22, 2012 at the Clearview Care Center in Clearfield will be held Saturday, July 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ritchie Funeral Home in Lenox. Visitation will be held Saturday from 9:30 until service time. Interment will be held at the West Fairview Cemetery in Lenox.

Hallie Rosellen Neuhardt, age 97, has joined her beloved husband Tom, Son Dean and daughter Helen, and moved home to be with the Lord on July 22, 2012 at 3:08 AM.

Hallie was born in Anita, Iowa on September 4, 1914, the daughter of Jerry L. Karns and Dora (Reed) Karns, both who preceded her in death. Hallie's eight siblings have also preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Lubeley and husband James of Phoenix, Arizona. Also a granddaughter, Cindy Earp and husband Wyatt; a grandson, David Hayes and wife Trish; great-granddaughter, Ria Newcomb and husband Andy; Katlyn Kerr and husband Curtis; Chelsea and Madison Hayes; and a great-great-granddaughter, Addison Kerr, all of the Osage Beach, Missouri area. One brother-in-law, Doyle Flora of Tustin, California along with several nieces and nephews.

Hallie was united in marriage to Thomas (Tom) Glen Neuhardt on July 16, 1932. They spent their married life farming around the Lenox area. She was a member of the Stringtown Church for many years. She will long be remembered for her embroidery work, quilts, lap robes and her homemade pickles. She loved to garden, can and do other crafts.

The family is very grateful for the wonderful care she received the past five years at the Clearview Homes in Clearfield, Iowa, and for Hospice of Mount Ayr in her final days battling cancer.

Memorial services for Michael D. Lillie, age 59, of Prescott, formerly of Lenox, who died Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at the Corning Nursing and Rehab will be held Monday, August 13, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the United Presbyterian Church in Lenox. Visitation will be held 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Monday, August 13, 2012 at the United Presbyterian Church. Private family interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to the Ritchie Funeral Home of Lenox.

Michael Duane Lillie was born September 15, 1952, in Creston, Iowa; the son of Earle Duane and Bessie Alice (Lewis) Lillie. He lived most of his life in the Lenox area. Michael graduated from the Lenox High School with the Class of 1970 where he played football and baseball and was also a member of the Boy Scouts. He then later earned his Associates of Liberal Arts Degree at SWCC and attended one year at Northwestern Missouri State University in Maryville towards a teaching degree. On October 14, 1978 he was united in marriage to Pamela Klassen at the Lenox Christian Church.

Michael worked as a fence builder most of his life. In recent years, he was employed managing hog farms with Iowa Select and also enjoyed the ministry of being a mentor for many children. Michael was always the one to tell a joke. He was a simple man that never wanted much and always valued his friendship with others. He loved fishing, Civil War history, playing hearts on the computer, and most of all, his family.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 33 years, Pamela Lillie of Prescott; his children: Matthew (Shawn) Lillie of Creston, Robert (Heather) Lillie of Corning, Tyler (Shelly) Lillie of Lenox, Joe (Sarah) Lillie of Corning, and Gary (Tristin) Lillie of Prescott; his grandchildren: Samantha, Ashley, Kathryn, Piper, Antoine, Adrian, and Gracie; his sister Virginia Surber of Chillicothe, MO; and his many friends and relatives.

Mildred Maud (Baxter) Davidson was born October 10, 1920, in Bedford, Iowa the daughter of John Harold Baxter and Ruby Pearl (Derrickson) Baxter. Mildred was the second oldest of five children. Her parents were farmers and she grew up attending country schools and was the Taylor County Champion Speller. She also was active in 4-H as a child, where she was elected Taylor County President. While in high school, she participated in basketball. She graduated from the Conway High School with the Class of 1937. After graduation, Mildred worked at the ASCS office in Bedford for two years.

On February 17, 1939, she was united in marriage to Dwight Davidson. They were blessed with the birth of three children, Lois, Alan and Nancy Lea. The family farmed until Dwight's retirement in 1977. They lived on the same farm four miles south of Bedford for 38 years before moving into town. In 1963, Mildred returned to work at the ASCS office as Program Clerk until her retirement in 1981.

Mildred was a member of the Berea Church of Christ in rural Bedford. She enjoyed golf, playing bridge, reading, solving difficult cross-word puzzles, women's club organizations and traveling. She wrote weekly letters to her three children and visited them as much as possible.

Left to cherish Mildred's memory are her three children, Lois Lee and husband Richard of Nixa, Missouri; Alan Davidson and wife Dianna of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Nancy Lea of Waiheke Island, New Zealand; five grandchildren, David Brian Lee, Todd Lee (Christine Lee), Ryan Davidson, Delynn Davidson (Joe Fox) and Samuel Holford (Eve his fiancé); five great-grandchildren, Michael Lee, Max Lee, Madison Lee, Tiago Fox and Tycho Fox; two brothers, Homer and Dean Baxter; along with many other relatives and friends.

Preceding Mildred in death are her parents, John and Ruby Baxter; her loving husband Dwight Davidson; a sister, Bette; a brother John Harold; three brothers-in-law, Dale, Dean and Wendell; and two sisters-in-law, Mildred and Bernice

 

031Dale “Butch” Edwin Williams was born October 31. 1943 at Athelstan, Iowa the son of Leona (Booher) and George Williams.
He attended elementary school in Blockton and graduated from Bedford High School in 1962. He moved to Shenandoah and worked at Mt. Arbor Nursery until 1989. Dale and Gloria Harrison, who knew each other from school, were married April 16, 1966. The couple had one child, Michael Dale. They moved to their Siam home in 1989. He continued working in the nurseries at Henry Field’s until 1995.
Butch enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing, tending to his chickens and driving around with his dog, Spottie, (Gomer).
Dale is preceded in the by his parents George and Leona Booher Williams.
Dale is survived by wife Gloria of Siam, Iowa; son Mike William and Karla Benedict; grandchildren Brandi (Donkey) Williams and Nick Herzberg of Clarinda, Iowa; Katie (Toad) Williams and Levi Baker and their son Eli and one on the way, Wyatt (Boogie) Williams of Siam, Iowa and Konnar Bogan of Mt Ayr, Iowa; brother Harold Williams and wife Jeanette of Kellerton, Iowa; sister Alice Ann Johnson and husband Rick of Athelstan, Iowa; and brother Paul Gene Williams and wife Judith of Linking, Mo, and many other family and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Eickemeyer Funeral Chapel, Clarinda, with Pastor Bill Farrens officiating. Interment was at Siam Cemetery. Eickemeyer Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements. www.EFC.cc
