022Mary Lou Lee, daughter of Lawrence Dale and Tessi Belle (Howell) Adams, was born on July 17, 1931 in Gravity, Iowa. Mary Lou entered eternal rest on Friday, July 6, 2012 at the Bedford Nursing and Rehab Center in Bedford, Iowa at the age of eighty years and eleven months.
Mary Lou was united in marriage to Jim Lee on February 26, 1949 and to this union five children were born: Mick, Sherry, Kathy, Randy and Teresa. The couple later divorced.
Mary Lou was a homemaker until 1972 she then worked as a waitress at the Corner Café & Coffee Shop. Later, Mary Lou worked in housekeeping at the Rosary Hospital in Corning until retiring in 1988 for health reasons.
Mary Lou loved life and enjoyed a variety of things. She loved going to the casino and playing cards. She was an avid fan of puzzle books and liked putting puzzles together. She enjoyed hand held video games and cherished time with her grandchildren. She loved the St. Louis Cardinals, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., and Tiger Woods. Mary Lou was known for her pie making skills and was known to have the best around.
Left to cherish Mary Lou's memory is her son, Mick (Mary Jo) Lee of Massena, Iowa; son-in-law, Max Scott of Des Moines, Iowa; daughter, Kathy (Tim) Hoegh of Atlantic, Iowa; son, Randy (Joan) Lee of Fletcher, North Carolina; daughter, Teresa Matheny and Rod Willets of Bedford, Iowa; ten grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Linda (Deak) Schafroth of Corning, Iowa brother-in-law, Herbert Rogers of Council Bluffs, Iowa; sister-in-law, Donna Adams of Omaha, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Phyllis Adams of Carter Lake, Iowa; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sherry Scott; sister, Donnie Rogers; brothers: Dean Adams and Junior Adams; ex-husband, Jim Lee; great granddaughter, Gage; mother-in-law, Gladys Lee and father-in-law, Spray Lee.
There was a Private Graveside Service for Mary Lou at the Oak Hill Cemetery on Friday, July 13, 2012. The receive friends from 6 – 8 PM on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Pearson Family funeral Service of Corning. Memorials may be directed to the family. 027W. Marie Sleep was born December 25, 1920 in Carl, Iowa to Thomas and Grace (Lawrence) Preston. She went to school at country school and graduated high school in Corning, Iowa in 1939.
In 1941 she met her soon to be soul-mate, Ralph Sleep. They were married July 8, 1942 in Lubbock, Texas where he was in WWII. To this union, two daughters were born, Janice Marie and Shirley Ann. They spend most of their lives farming and raising Hereford cattle. Marie always had a huge garden and chicken to dress for the winter meals.
Marie was a homemaker until 1968 when she worked at O'Bryan Bros and then Bedford Nursing Home where she received her CNA license. She also worked as a dish aide until retiring in 1985. Marie was a life time American Legion Auxiliary Member in Bedford, Iowa. The couple moved to Bedford in 1976 after Ralph started to get ill.
Marie was a very kind and caring wife, mother, grandma and great grandma, also becoming a great-great grandma in 2010.
Marie is preceded in death by her parents, husband, her sister Ruth Rex, and by brothers Russell Preston, Robert Preston and Glen Preston, also a host of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Janice Marie Wilson of Maryville, Missouri: Shirley Ann Sleep of Hopkins, Missouri: and her sister Wilma Martin of Manford, Oklahoma: 3 grandchildren, Arlene Marie Carroll of Bedford, Iowa: Cindy Ann Stevens of Bethany, Missouri: and Curtis H. Carroll of Bolivar, Missouri: Great grandchildren Jessica and Dylan Stevens of Bethany, Missouri: Jacob Thomsen of Bedford, Iowa: Aaron and Rachel Thomsen of Eagleville, Missouri: and one great-great granddaughter Elizabeth Ann Hiatt of Bethany, Missouri: along with many other relatives and friends.

032Richard Eugene Hull was born September 26, 1950 in Maryville, Missouri to Glen and Clara Belle Hull. He passed away June 19, 2012 in the Albany Hospital due to bad health. He was the oldest of 4 sons.
Richard attended Blockton and Bedford schools. He also helped his parents on the family farm. He served three years in the United States Army. He spent time in Germany, the Vietnam War and then back to Germany.
On February 19, 1972 Richard married Ruby Morse. To this union three daughters were born. Rose, Betty, and Barbara. They were mar4ried for 40 years. He worked on farms, had a welding and tire shop, drove truck over the road and later made horse carts. In 1989 at the age of 39 he had health problems and became disabled.
Richard gave his life to God in 1990 and was baptized with his wife Ruby and daughters Betty and Barbara. He enjoyed helping others and giving to others. He loved making things and giving them away.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Wilbur and Allen; grandparents and great-grandparents.
He is survived by wife Ruby of the home in Redding, three daughters: Rosie Miller and husband Shawn of Afton, Iowa, Betty Fields and husband Nick of Perry, Iowa and Barbara Strubberg and husband Andy of St. Louis, Missouri; parents: Glen and Clara Hull of Blockton, Iowa; grandchildren: Clayton and Taylor Miller of Afton, Iowa; Austin Claypole, Zavier and Anicka Fields of Perry, Iowa; Cassandra Bounds and Joey Strubberg of St. Louis, Missouri; and brother Bob Hull and wife Carolyn of Blockton, Iowa.
Funeral services were 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 23, 2012 at the Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home in Grant City, Missouri. Rev. Scott Marcum and Rev. Len Green officiated. Interment was in the Athelstan Cemetery in Blockton, Iowa
