“Blest Be the Tie that Binds.” High Creek Church 1881-Restored 1990- Active Baptist Church till 1967. Going inside the church was very moving to me, knowing these men had been there and worshipped. Maybe their funerals were there.
Tim Whelan, takes care of the books of High Creek Cemetery, I had written him for help in finding the graves of Tom and Jim. He had no record of them being buried there but stated the Whitehead plot was for 6 graves, with 3 being buried there. I am assuming that Tom and Jim are buried on the north side of these graves. I feel bad that James Marcus and his nephew Thomas Jasper Whitehead do not have grave markers but maybe making this memory of them will be sufficient.
