A Samuel Lemley 1800 - 1880 shortly after the Civil War, about 1868, sold all his real estate in Green County, Penn and emigrated to the west taking with him all his children and grandchildren, and settled in Iowa where he bought several thousand acres of land in the county of Taylor near the town of Bedford.

Samuel Lemley's wife was Margaret Lemley, daughter of David Lemely born 1807: married Nov 27, 1832

Children:

5. Samuel

Some years later his son David S. and wife Lucy Headley and most of their family along with brothers Morris and Jeremiah returned to Penn.
