Henry, who was born April 17, 1898 in Cozad, Nebraska, on August 30, 1915 in Corning Iowa in the Congregational Church. The witnesses of this marriage were noted as cousins, Marietta and Otto Odell.

In 1915 Calkins families of Thomas and Elson, moved from Iowa to Holyoke, Colorado. Jennie Calkins lived in Holyoke, Colorado until her death in her 88th year. Her husband, Thomas R. Calkins, died in Holyoke, Colorado in 1917.
