Service For Mrs. Teslik Was Held Sunday. Elberon Woman Died on Friday Following Strokes (Elberon Correspondence). Katherine Jiroutek Teslik, 61, was born in Bohemia, November 28, 1876, and died Friday, December 31, 1937, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joseph Gregor, at Swisher, after suffering several strokes. On September 22, 1896, she married Rudolph Teslik, who survives with eight of their children. In 1905 she came to America. Mr. Teslik followed his trade as blacksmith in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa. They came to Elberon about 22 years ago. About 10 years ago Mrs. Teslik suffered a stroke and was from that time in failing health. Repeated strokes during these years rendered her helpless, until she succumbed. Besides her husband she is survived by the following children: Mrs. W. J. Turecek and Mrs. Joseph Gregor, both of Swisher; Katherine, at home; Mrs. William Struve, of Elberon; Mrs. Darrell Quigley, of Tama; Edward, of Riverside; Lewis, at Fort Des Moines, and Franklin, of Belle Plaine. A daughter preceded her in death. She leaves 10 grandchildren; also one brother and two sisters in Bohemia. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Elberon church with the Rev. Theo. Staiger officiating, and burial was in the National cemetery near Vining.
