The original plat of the Grant Township Cemetery was laid out in 1877. A new section to the south of the original plat was purchased in 1997. It is approximately the same size as the original plat. The following information applies to the original plat. The original plat is approximately 3 acres. It is divided into three sections with a driveway on each side of the center section and around the center section on the west end to the other driveway. The driveway is 12 feet wide. The lots are 13 feet east/west by 20 feet north/south. Brick markers are placed at the corners of each lot. There are 3 sets of lots in each section. These lots are numbered commencing at the northeast corner of the plat, numbering from east to west, with the next row returning from west to east, continuing with the next row back east to west again. When reching the west end of the north section the numbering crosses the driveway and returns back east and so on with the middle, then the south section. Burial requires 4 feet by 8 feet opening when using cement vaults.
