On July 1, 1959, the Boyden-Hull Independent School District and rural school districts in the surrounding area were organized into one district. The following rural schools were used for class rooms: Grade 1-6 until more room was available through construction of new buildings. Lincoln Township # 4, 5, 6; Sheridan Township # 3, 4, 6 and Wheeler Township #9 of Lyon County.
