Alton Democrat, June 8, 1907 Rock Valley High School Graduating Class of 1907 The graduating exercises of the Rock Valley high school occurred Thursday evening June 6 in the Opera House. A class of sixteen consisting of two boys and fourteen girls will graduate. The largest it is said ever graduated from the public school of Rock Valley. The following named persons compose the class. Josephine Bauman Julia Beumer Agnes Czpull Elsie Corwin Luthera Eldredge Alice Fitzgerald Anna Helsig Earl Leonard Jessie Minard Jessie Mulvey Lona Norris Emma Oakland Josephine Sandschulte Fred Schlund Esther Schlund Anna Van Otterloo The following program was rendered: Invocation was given by Rev. R. E. Lackey. Music “The Goblin” by Misses Josephine Sandschulte, Jennie Smith, Anna Van Otterlooo and Jessie Minard. Oration – “Ideals” Anna Van Otterloo. Oration – “the Golden Fleece” Jessie Minard. Music by Mesdmes J. J. Large, F. J. Huizenga, W. R. McQuilkin and Miss Elizabeth Huizenga. Address – “Afloat on the Current” by Rev. H. r. Best. Cornet solo by Don McKellar. Presentation of diplomas by F. J. Huizenga president of the board. Thus closed a very successful term of school under the supervision of that indefatigable worker Prof. B. T. Youel whose services have been wisely retained by the school board for another year. |
