Sioux County Rural Schools, Eighth Grade Promotion May 25, 1945 Program ~held at Hawarden High School
~below is the inside pages
~Thanks so much to Milton Keizer who submitted his scans of his own Eighth Grade Graduation Program. These are awesome! Here are some of Milt's memories from his school daze: "I was born July 3, 1931, when my parents lived on the Killam (Killum?) farm--where Elm Springs is--in Settler's Township, just across the Sioux River from Fairview. My older brothers and sister Doris didn't go to country school there; instead, they walked across the railroad trestle to the Fairview, SD school. There also was a High School in Fairview then, from which Eugene Keizer graduated, but Leroy Keizer finished his last two years of HS at Hawarden." In reference to the Eighth Grade Promotion images.... "Not all of the 23 rural students from 7 of the 9 known area rural schools actually started High School in Hawarden's freshman class of 72 students that came from all over the area on the border of IA/SD. (We had quite a few come to Hawarden schools from South Dakota. )"
