Do you remember away back when?
Do you recognize this group of students? They attended Carmel school northwest of Sioux Center under the instruction of Miss Colista Jensen, pictured with them.
The picture, in case you want a clue, was taken 66 years ago, in 1898. Mrs. Wm. DeRoos of Hull, who loaned this picture to the News for publication, was unable identify all the students, but furnished name: Front row, L-R, Paul Schreuder, Nittie Kuiper (Mrs. Jim DenHartog), Delia Meylink (Mrs. Wm. DeRoos), Mae Meylink (Mrs. Wm. Bergsma), Kattie Kuiper, Jennie VanBerkum (Mrs. Gilbert VanBeek).
Second row, L-R Pete Schreuder, Cornie Kuiper, Neal Wolfswinkel, Mrs. Colista Jensen - Teacher, /Will Meylink, three VanRoekel boys and Arie Kuiper.

The pupils were from the following families: Gysbert Kuiper -5, Henry Meylink -5, Jake Shreuder -2, Geurt VanRoekel - 7, Jennie VanBerkum and Cornelius Wolfswinkel.
