In his leisure time, he was an avid bowler with the B & M Motors and Knights of
Columbus teams, participating in several state tournaments. Earl enjoyed
gardening with his wife of 62 years as well as fishing, hunting, and helping
family and friends with a variety of projects. His orchard kept family,
neighbors, and friends well supplied with various fruits and nuts.
Being involved in the lives of his children, grandchildren, and
great-grandchildren is what Earl would list as life's greatest accomplishment.
Whether teaching them to bait a hook, throw a baseball or softball, reading them
a favorite story, or showing them how to fix something, he gently and patiently
helped them to learn. Playing pool or a card game with them or attending one of
their many activities gave him untold pleasure. He was all anyone could ask for
in a father or grandpa, passing on to future generations his philosophy that
"It's A Wonderful Life!"

half-sister Jean, son John, and daughter Linda. Survivors include his wife,
