APACHE JUNCTION, AZ - Richard "Dick" Alex Kramer, was born in Denison Dec 14, 1950 to Frank and Adeline (Klocke) Kramer. He was the fourth of five children. The family moved to the Valley of the Sun after the New Year in 1954 making Chandler, AZ their home. Dick attended St Mary's Catholic School and was a Seton High School graduate in 1968. While in high school he participated in sports such as football, basketball and softball.
Dick met Laurie Lynn his senior year and they married in 1971. He was an accomplished block mason and built his own family home in East Mesa in 1979. Over the years he has built many creative buildings, homes, fireplaces and BBQs from block and stone. He died at his home in Apache Junction after a hand fought battle with cancer Nov. 21, 2006, at age 55.
Dick is preceded in death by his father, Frank Kramer in 2000; his mother, Adeline Kramer in 1996, a brother Duane Kramer in 1985, and a niece, Kelly Kramer in 2005. He is survived by his son, Gary (Christy) Kramer and their two children, Ryan and Michaela of Mesa. AZ; daughter Stacy (Konrad) Klopping and their child, Adeline, of Mesa AZ; brother, Don Kramer (Mary Lu) of Mesa, AZ; sister, Diane Thieman (Hank) of Petersburg, NE; and brother, Dean Kramer (Kate) of Petersburg, NE; aunts and uncle Irene Friesen of Council Bluffs, Lillian Schaben of Harlan, Rita (Verty) Klocke of Cascade; Alma (Paul) Bissen of Harlan; Theresa Grote of Portsmouth; Leona (Joe) Bissen of Clarinda; Marlene Kramer of Omaha, NE; Mary Alice (Francis) Heese of Earling; cousins including the children of the late Dolores Kramer (Fuhs) and other relatives.
Services were held Dec. 1, 2006 at Valley of the sun Mortuary and Cemetery in Chandler, AZ, with Father John Cunninghan officiating.
