Mesa, AZ. - Frank Joseph Kramer, Jr. son of Frank and Cecelia (Schechinger) Kramer, was born Jan. 24, 1919, in Panama. He was baptized at St Mary's Catholic Church in Panama. He attended eight years of schooling in Earling and Defiance, growing to adulthood on the family farm.
He married Adeline Klocke at St. Frances Catholic Church in Randolph, NE, Feb. 11, 1941. To this union five children were born. Frank and Adeline farmed in the Randolph area and in western Iowa until moving to Chandler, AZ. in February of 1954. He first worked at Capitol Foundry but soon got certified in electronics repair and started his own television repair business. Later he worked at Motorola as an electronic technician. In 1972, they moved to Tempe, AZ where they owned and managed an apartment complex. They retired to Mesa, Az, in 1977. Adeline died Jan 15, 1996. Frank then married Lou Eva Carlin Nov.3, 1997. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus and the Buckhorn Elks. He died in Mesa, AZ. May 22, 2000 at age 81.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Adeline; his son, Duane; his parents, Frank and Cecelia Kramer; brothers, Raymond, Lawrence, James, Anthony, Victor Emil, Gerald (Jerry) and Norbert (Nub); sisters Cecilia and Patricia; brothers-in-law Leo V. Schaben (Jack), William Fuhs and Dale Friesen. He is survived by his wife. Lou of Mesa, AZ; three sons, Don (Mary Lou) Kramer of Mesa, AZ; Dick (Laurie) Kramer of Mesa, AZ; Dean (Kate) Kramer of Petersburg, NE; one daughter, Diane (Hank) Thieman of Petersburg, NE; one daughter-in-law, Lupe Kramer of Mesa, AZ; seven sisters, Irene Friesen of Co. Bluffs; Lillian Schaben of Harlan; Rita (Verdy) Klocke of Cascade, Theresa (Tom) Grote of Portsmouth; Delores Fuhs of Portsmouth; Leona (Joe) Bissen of Clarinda and Mary (Francis) Heese of Earling; two sisters-in-law, Alma Kramer Bissen of Harlan and Marlene Kramer of South Bend, NE; 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated May 26, 2000 at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Mesa, AZ. Burial was in Valley of the Sun Memorial Park in Chandler, AZ. Casket bearers were John Kramer, Gary Kramer, Dustin Kramer, Duane (D.J.) Kramer and Glen Thieman.
