Peter book passed away at his home in Avoca, Iowa. Thursday, April 10, 1924, at the age of sixty-nine years , three months and twenty six days. He was found dead in bed by his son Charlie, who called him for breakfast.

Mr. Book was bon in Germany at Germany, December 15, 1855, December 15, 1870 he was united in marriage to Miss Catherine Heighdecker. To this union fourteen children were born, four of whom preceded their father and mother in death. The remaining children remaining are Joe Book. of Chadron, Neb., Mrs. Jess Waterbury, of Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs Elmer Mehrens, Mrs. Charles Wise, Charles Book and Mrs. Loren McConnell, all of Avoca. Theo Book, Hetrick, IA; Mrs. Max Petersen of Oakland, Vincent Book of Redline, Ia., and Mrs. Albert Swearingen, of Cheyenne, Wyo.

Mr. Book moved with his family from Missouri to Harlan, Iowa in 1881 where they lived for thirty years, then moving to Avoca in 1910, where he has since lived. Mrs. Book passed away a few years ago.

Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Church Saturday, April 12, with interment in the Avoca cemetery.
