Westphalia -- Mrs. Hulda Huebner Book was born on Jan,. 11, 1866 at Provins, Pomern in Lapor, Kries, Stoip, Germany, and died on Nov. 26 th here at the age of 69 years, 10 months and 15 days. She came to this country with her parents in June, 1881. Mrs. Book was the oldest of eight children and when here but a short time she began working in Harlan and other places for five years.
On Nov. 9, 1886 she was united in marriage to Joseph Book. To this union six children were born. Mrs. Clara Bissen of Earling, Mrs. Anna Luetticke of Harlan, Mrs. Dora Blum and Joe Book, Jr., and two died in infancy.
The deceased was converted to the Catholic faith at the time of her marriage. She was well fortified with the last rites of the church.
Funeral services were conducted at 9:00 a.m. at the St Boniface Catholic Church with Rev. H. E. Duren singing the requiem High Mass and the remains were laid to rest in the St. Boniface cemetery.
She leaves to mourn her husband, Joseph Book, Sr., four children, Clara, Anna, Dora and Joseph, thirty grand children and three great grand children.
Pall bearers were six grandchildren, Leo and Elmer Luetticke and Ralph Graf of Harlan, Nicholaus and Sylvan Bissen of Earling and Herbert Blum.

Book, Raymond and Leo Book, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Graf and family, Mr. and Mrs. Will Buman of Harlan, Mr. and Mrs. Chas Book, Jr., and daughter Esther, Mr. and Mrs Joe Bissen, all of Defiance, Mr. Leonard Erlbacher,Sr., Mrs. Elizabeth Block and family Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Erlbacher, Jr., Henry and Joe Erlbacher, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Greteman, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kramer, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kramer of Earling, Art and Walter Book of Harlan, Mr. and Mrs. John Bissen, Mr. and Mrs. John Bissen, Mr. and Mrs. John Erlbacher, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Erlbacher, all of Earling; Mr. and Mrs. Cloves Wattier and sons, and Walter Liever of Randolph, Nebr., and Miss Nina Luetticke of Omaha.
