Prominent among the representative German-American families - of Scott County is Max F. Roblff. He is a native of Holstein, Germany, where he was born September 1, 1829, son of Asmus Rohlff. He received a limited education in the country of his nativity and grew up on a farm. In November, 1855, he came to America and located in Sheridan Township, where he purchased a farm and now owns almost two hundred acres of very valuable land.
In 1857 he married Miss Bertha Schneckloth, also a native of Germany. He has held many minor offices in his Township and is also adjuster for the German Mutual Fire Insurance Company of Davenport, and has been a lifelong member of the German Lutheran Church.
