POE - The pupils of No. 7 Poe [Pleasant Hill School], and their teacher, Mrs. Edith W. Link, gave a program and box supper Wednesday evening, from which the school cleared $15.75. Prizes were awarded to Alpha Pray for guessing the nearest number of grains of popcorn in a glass bottle and having the prettiest box; to Carol Tullis for being the most popular young lady present and Sam Snellgrove for being the laziest man in attendance. Albert Stephens was the auctioneer.

Betty BURCHETT, who has been employed for several months at Bryant's Sandwich Shop, has accepted the teaching duties at Poe No. 7, which she will assume on February 19. The school has been taught by Mrs. Franklin MAIN, who resigned because she is moving out of the community.

Pleasant Hill School was moved from its original location and is used as a tool shed. It is located four miles east of Mount Ayr on Highway 2, south 3 1/2 miles on the east side of the road.
