GRAND RIVER SCHOOLGrand River, Decatur County, Iowa
The Grand River school house was ready to receive classes in the fall of 1916. A gymnasium was annexed on the east side of the school and ready for use in the fall of the 1953-54 school year.
Grand River consolidated with Kellerton for the 1960-61 school year. Elementary and Junior High students attended classes in the Grand River school house. Grand Valley Community School District
was dissolved with the last class graduating in 1992. For a while the building was used as a fish hook factory. Ultimately, the building was demolished and a new community center was built on the site.
