Loren Willis Killed in Decatur

Loren WILLIS, 38, of Mount Ayr, father of three children, was instantly killed at Decatur when the floor in the old
Campbell Cafe and Hotel building collapsed as it was being torn down. The building was erected in 1913 and for
twenty years it held a cafe and meat market on the ground floor and a hotel in theupper story. The last business
to occupy the ground floor was a shoe and harness shop. Forest NOFTSGER of Leon was also caught in the falling
building. He was rescued by Earl BRIDGER. NOTE: Loren was born in 1892, and was interred at
Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr.
