EAGLEVILLE, Mo. — Donna L. YATES, 80, Eagleville, passed away December 3, 2010, at her home in Eagleville.

The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 8, at the Roberson Funeral Home, Eagleville, with burial in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Kellerton, Iowa. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home where friends may call after 8 a.m.Wednesday. www.robersonfuneralhome.com

Donna Lea YATES, 80, Eagleville, passed away Friday, December 3, 2010 at her home.

She was born November 11, 1930 on a farm Southeast of Eagleville, MO, the daughter of Chalmer and Minnie Elra (STANLEY) EASTIN.

She attended school and graduated from Eagleville High School where she was active in school activities.

On July 31, 1948, she married Rolland GILLILAND. To this union 3 children were born. They lived in Hatfield until moving to Iowa. They divorced in 1962. On July 1, 1978, she married William "Bill" YATES. They lived in Texas. He preceded her in death. Donna returned to Missouri in November 1998.

Donna worked at Northwestern Bell Telephone and for the U.S. Postal Service for 18 years in different positions with the last few years at the branch office in Urbandale, IA.

Donna belonged to the Modernettes Club; Modernaires Family & Community Education Club; Harrison County Community Hospital Auxiliary; American Legion Auxiliary - Unit 56; and volunteered at the HCCH Gift Shop. She was a member of the Eagleville United Methodist Church.

Donna enjoyed the hobby of calligraphy, writing letters, reading recipe books, and baking. She enjoyed flowers and plants. She had numerous collections - she gave away 50 porcelain birds from her collection in 2009-2010. She liked to keep in touch with friends and relatives by phone or letters. She loved shopping and garage sales.

She also was preceded in death by parents; daughter, Sherry MARKLE in 2001; son, Roger GILLILAND in 2006; and great-great-grandchild, Ashton.

Survivors include a Daughter, Susan (John) BRAUN, Huntington Beach, CA; Grandchildren, Roger GILLILAND, Jr., Des Moines, IA, Jessica (Gary) HOLDER, Huntington Beach, CA, Angelina FINDLEY, Bethany, MO; 8 Great-grandchildren, Justin GILLILAND, Brenda and Shannon; Paytience MARKLE, Taylore and Kayla ANDRUS; Gavin and Brooke Holder; 4 Step-great-grandchildren, Bradley, Chloe, Logan, and Carter; 7 Great-great-grandchildren, Colin, Matthew, Shyanne, Arehannah, Nathan, Skylee, and KeShawn; 2 Sisters, Phyllis RITCHIE, Eagleville, MO and Karen (Harry) PAULSEN, Rapid City, South Dakota; Brother, Kay (Peachie) EASTIN, Eagleville, MO.
