The Mount Ayr Record-News, 1930

Sarah Emma WILEY was born in the state of Ohio, January 4, 1844, and came with her parents to Missouri when about 16 years of age. At the age of 20 years she was united in marriage to Joseph HUNT and to this union was born six children, three boys and three girls, Isabell WILLIAMSON of McLouth, Kansas; Cora EIFENBARGER of Martinsville, Missouri; Stella WILEY of Lamoni, Iowa; Willie HUNT, deceased; and Jesse HUNT of Iroquoise, S.D. All were at her bedside during her last illness except Jesse, who was unable to come.

In June, 1884, she was married to John WILEY and to that union was born two sons, Arthur WILEY of Kellerton, and Corwin WILEY of Waterloo. She departed this life June 23, 1930, aged 86 years, five months and 18 days. She leaves to mourn her departure her children, 13 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren, also two sisters - Eliza HENDREN, of Ridgeway, Mo., and Etta HENDREN, of Oklahoma, and a host of other relatives, friends and neighbors.

NOTE: Sarah was interred at Maple Row Cemetery, Kellerton, Ringgold County, Iowa.
