Iver WACKERNAGLE, 60, of Bedford, Iowa, passed away Nov. 23, 1983. He had been in failing health the past year in and out of the hospital and the Clearview Nursing Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa.

Iver, the only child of Gus and Beatrice WACKERNAGLE, was born Oct. 12, 1923 at the home place south of Clearfield, Iowa.

On Feb. 15, 1944, he was married to Arloa WYMAN and to this union two children were born, S. C. WACKERNAGLE of Bedford, Iowa, and Vicki O'CONNOR of Creston, Iowa.

Iver's entire life was spent around and near the Clearfield community. He attended country schools south of Clearfield and then stayed with his aunt, Rose WACKERNAGLE part of the time while attending high school in Clearfield. He graduated with the class of 1942.

He enjoyed taking care of the livestock and farming, with his son Jack helping. He loved all kinds of sports, card playing, bowling and traveling, and above all, was never too busy to stop his work and visit with his neighbors and many friends. He especially loved having his grandchildren come to visit.

He was an electrician for many years, a member of Lions Club at Clearfield, a member of Pork Producers and the Cattlemen's Association.

He was preceded in death by his father Gus on Jan. 9, 1975; Aunt Rose WACKERNAGLE on Oct. 4, 1970; Aunt Stella TAYLOR on Jan. 4, 1978; and father-in-law, Carl WYMAN on Aug. 26, 1973.

Those left to mourn his passing are his wife, Arloa; two children, S. C. WACKERNAGLE and Vicki O'CONNOR; daughter-in-law, Debbie' son-in-law, Tom; and three grandchildren, Gary WACKERNAGLE, John O'CONNOR and Melissa O'CONNER; cousin Edna CARR, Springfield, Nebraska; and second cousins, Howard CARR and Shirley SCHOETTGER; and other relatives and a host of friends.

Services were held at the First Christian Church, Clearfield, Iowa, on Saturday, Nov. 26, 1983. Officiating were Rev. Roger GRAF and Rev. Carl CUMMINGS. Music was by Mrs. Earl GAULE.

Casketbearers were Mike WARIN, Howard CARR, Billy WYMAN, John SCROGGIE, Kenneth BROWN and Leroy BLESSMAN. Burial was in the Clearfield Cemetery at Clearfield, Iowa.
