Ella R. Taylor, daughter of T. J. and Maria McMahill was born near Kirkwood, Ill., Jan. 23, 1859 and departed from this life Feb. 22, 1954, at the age of 95 years and 29 days. She was one of eight children.

She came to Bedford, Ia , with her parents in 1881. She was united in marriage to J. W. Taylor Sept. 12, 1894 at Bedford. To this union two children were born, a son, Granville, who died May 6, 1918, while serving in the army during World War I, and a daughter, Nella McMahill, with whom she has made her home for several years. Her husband preceded her in death.April 30, 1938.

In addition to her daughter she is survived by her son-in-law, nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and a host of friends and neighbors.

She joined the Seventh Day Adventist church in 1908 and remained a faithful member until her death.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 24 in the Presbyterian church in Sharpsburg with Rev. George Stone of Osceola and Rev. Donald Watkins of Sharpsburg officiating. Burial was in Clearfield cemetery. Grandsons of Mrs. Taylor were casket bearers.
