OBITUARY ~ DONALD STEPHENS, CLEARFIELD

CLEARFIELD - Donald STEPHENS, 71, of Clearfield died Friday at St. Joseph's Hospital in Omaha. His funeral was 11 a.m.
today at the Sharpsburg Presbyterian Church with the Revs. Roger GRAF and Ken RUMMER. Burial was in Clearfield
Cemetery with Wilson-Watson Funeral Home of Clearfield in charge. Mr. STEPHENS was born Feb. 26, 1911, to George and
Mable STEPHENS in Dudenville, Mo. On Nov. 8, 1935, he married Ilah RIDPATH. They farmed west of Clearfield until several
years ago when they moved into Clearfield and Mr. STEPHENS took up carpentry. Survivors include his wife, Ilah; three
sons, Larry and Darrell of Clearfield and Dale STEPHENS of Scranton; four grandchildren and a brother Howard STEPHENS
of Clearfield. At his funeral, music was provided by organist Mrs. Robert LOCKHART and singers, Mrs. Harold SPRING
and Mrs. Richard LONG. Honorary pallberarers were James and Randy WYER, Steven HARGRAVE and Duane, George and
Eugene CROCKETT. Active bearers were Ron BROWN, Paul OXLEY, Gerald SCOTT, John LYDDON, Marvin BOYER and Melvin PFANDER.
A memorial has been established to the Association for Retarded Citizens.

OBITUARY ~ DONALD STEPHENS, CLEARFIELD

DONALD STACEY STEPHENS, youngest child of George and Mabel ROBINSON STEPHENS, was born February 26th, 1911, near
Dudenville, Mo. In 1926, the family moved to the Clearfield vicinity and were engaged in farming. On November 9,
1935, Donald married Ilah RIDPATH and three sons were born to this union: Dale of Scranton, Iowa and Larry and
Darrel of Clearfield. Donald was a farmer by occupation until moving to Clearfiled in 1974 after which he worked
at Carpentry. He was a faithful member of the United Presbyterian Church serving as an elder in the Clearfield
church then as an usher in the Sharpsburg church until the time of his death. He had a deep faith in God. He was
always interested in the activities of his sons whether it was church, sports, 4-H or academic involvement. Survivors
include his wife, Ilah, sons, Darrel, Larry and Dale, Daughter-in-law, Sarah, and four granddaughters who were his pride
and joy. his brother, Howard, also survives. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, August 2nd at 11:00 A.M. from
the Presbyterian Church in Sharpsburg with Rev. Roger GRAF and Ken RUMMER officiating with burial in the Clearfield
cemetery. Music was by Robert (sic, should be Roberta) LOCKHART of Lenox at the organ and accompanied Linda SPRING and Chris LONG, who
sang. Honorary casketbearers were Stephen HARGRAVE, James and Randy WYER, George and Gene and Duane CROCKETT.
Casketbearers were Gerald SCOTT, Marvin BOYER, Melvin PFANDER, Paul OXLEY, John LYDDON and Ron BROWN. A memorial was
established for the Association for Retarded Citizens.
