OBITUARY ~ MRS. EVERETT SMITH

Clara Beatrice COULSON SMITH, the oldest child of Charles and Nora COULSON, was born December 6, 1900, in Ringgold county, and departed this life November 17, 1977 at the age of 76 years, 11 months and 12 days.

She spent her early life and received her education in Ringgold county, Iowa, and Harrison County, Missouri schools.

She joined the Evangelical Church at Ringgold City at an early age.

She was united in marriage with Everett H. SMITH on July 23, 1921, and to this union was born three children, Madge KING of Des Moines, Iowa, Maxine HARBISON of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Corwin SMITH of Santa Ana, Calif., presently of Torino, Italy.

Preceding her in death were her parents and one sister.

Also surviving are her two sons-in-law, John KING of Des Moines, and Arthur HARBISON of Huntington Beach, Calif.; three grandchildren and one great-grandson, two sisters and five brothers.

The SMITHS have resided in Ringgold county over 56 years.

Clara was a kind an faithful wife and mother and was always willing to lend a helping hand to all who knew her.

Funeral services were held Nov. 18 from the Rhoades-Wilson Funeral Home in Mount Ayr, with the Rev. Norman NOBLE officiating. Mrs. Jim JONES and Mrs. Robert FISHER provided music, accompanied by Mike GREENE. Casketbearers were Dan COULSON, Jim COULSON, Robet COULSON, Harold COULSON, Kindal COULSON and Lloyd BURGHER. Interment was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr.
