Word has been received of the death of Robert (Bob) SHELDON, 65, of Norfolk, VA on Aug. 26 [1989], after a lingering illness. He is survived by his wife, Anne; two sisters, Mrs. Velma HILL and brother-in-law, Harris HILL; and Mrs. Minnie BRECKENRIDGE and brother-in-law, Billy BRECKENRIDGE, all of Tingley; also, a brother, Leo B. SHELDON and sister-in-law, Audrey, of St. Paul, MN; two sons, Danny, of Minnesota and Lanny of Colorado. His parents were Mrs. and Mrs. Orville SHELDON of Mount Ayr, now deceased, and he ws also preceded in death by a brother, Glen. A memoridal service was held Aug. 28 in Norfolk. His wishes were for this body to be given to Science Hospital at Richmond, VA.

Robert (Bob) SHELDON, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Orville SHELDON, was born February 26, 1924 in Diagonal, Iowa. After a lengthy illness, he passed away August 26, 1989, at Hillhaven Nursing Home in Norfolk, VA. At the age of nine years, his leg was hurt while playing hockey, leaving him incapacitated. He spent many of his younger years in the University Hospital in Iowa City. He was always happy, never complaining of his handicap.

He graduated in 1944 from Mount Ayr High School. He always enjoyed his classmates and reunion time. He was married to Anne HOKE PERRY on December 18, 1965, in Norfolk, Virginia. He retired from Civil Service after 13 years of service. He was a member of the Norview Baptist Church in Norfolk. He enjoyed the choir and the many beautiful flowers he planted there, while he was able.

Memorial services were conducted August 28, 1989, by Rev. James BRADSHAW, at the Norview Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orville SHELDON; a brother, Glen, and sister-in-law, of Norfolk, VA.

Survivors are his wife, Anna, of Norfolk, VA; two sisters, Velma HILL and Minnie BRECKENRIDGE, of Tingley; one brother, Leo B. SHELDON of St. Paul, MN; two sons, Danny SHELDON of Minnestoa and Lanny SHELDON of Colorado; two brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; one step-son and several nieces and nephews.
