OBITUARY ~ CLOYD L. SCOTT

Cloyd L. SCOTT passed away on Friday, June 6 [1975], at the Creston Manor Nursing Home at the age of 80. This
terminated an illnes which had lasted over a year. Cloyd was born Jan. 5, 1895, to Perry James SCOTT and
Kathryn SPITZNOGEL SCOTT. He had been a long-time resident of the Kellerton area. In this area he and his
father owned and operated a farm. After graduating from Drake University Law School and being admitted to the
bar, he returned to Kellerton area to help operate the farm. During this periiod of years he helped care
for Wilma LANTZ, his niece. As time passed he later retunred to Des Moines where he lived for several years.
In his later years he came to live around his niece, Wilma, in Creston, where he resided until his death.
While Attending Drake University, he became a member of the law fraternity, Delta Theta Phi. Around the Kellerton
area he joined the Mason, in which he attained the fifty-year membership. He is survived by his niece, Wilma,
her husband, Marion and daughter, Marcia of Creston. In addition to many other nieces and nephews, he was also
survived by one sister, Velva HUKILL. Services were held from Kellerton United Methodist church Sunday, June 8,
at 3 p.m. with Rev. Walter ZARR officiating. Casketbearers were Porter HAVELY, James PAYTON, Dean JACKSON,
Glen SISSEL, Ron SMITH and Wayne EMIG. Burial was in Maple Row Cemetery at Kellerton. Rhoades-Wilson Funeral Home
had charge of the services.
