OBITUARY ~ FRANK LESLIE ROUTH
Frank Routh, 69, prominent retired farmer, died at his home in Lenox, Friday,
Nov. 20 at 12:45 p. m. He had lived in the Diagonal vicinity most of his life.
He and his wife moved to Lenox four years ago.
Survivors: his wife, Carrie, 3 sons. Francis and Lee of Diagonal; Marvin of
Lenox, 5 grandchildren; 3 brothers Fred of St. Petersburg, Fla.; Bert of
Clearfield; Glen of Diagonal one sister, Mrs. Nettie Tindle of Clearfield.
Funeral services were Sunday at 2 p. m. at the Methodist church in Clearfield,
with Rev. C. E. McPherson officiating. Burial was in the Clearfield cemetery.

OBITUARY ~ FRANK LESLIE ROUTH
Frank Leslie Routh, eldest son of James and Mary Jane Routh, was born in
Alexis, Ill., March 11, 1884. and passed from this life at his home in Lenox,
Iowa, Nov. 20, 1953 aged 69 years, 8
months and 9 days.
He moved with his parents, in infancy, to Ogallala, Neb., where they
homesteaded a claim. When 8 years old he moved with his parents back to Alexis
in a covered wagon. Here he grew to manhood and farmed there until 1910 when
he came to Iowa, locating near Diagonal, Ia.
On May 4, 1911 he was united in marriage to Carrie Ann Tindle. God blessed this
union with four sons. He was a true and faithful he husband and loving father.
He leaves to mourn his departure besides his beloved wife, three sons: Francis
and Lee of Diagonal, Ia.; and Marvin of Lenox, Ia.; three daughters-in-law;
five grandchildren; three brothers, Fred of St. Petersburg Fla.; Bert of
Clearfield, Ia.; and Glen of Diagonal; one sister Mrs. Nettie Tindle of
Clearfield; and 12 nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and
friends. Preceding him in death were his son Freddie;, his, sister Lola
Tindle; and his parents.
His life occupation was farming. In 1949 he retired to his home in Lenox. He
was a member of the Methodist Church of Clearfield. His soul has taken its
flight to God who gave it.
Funeral services were Nov 22 at Clearfield with burial there.
