Iva Ruth Morey, daughter of Wilson and Margaret A. Huff Morey was born near Clearfield, Ia., on Jan. 27, 1879 and spent her entire life in and near Clearfield. As a young woman she taught in the rural schools of Ringgold County until she was united in marriage on March 4, 1908 to Charles B. Parslow. To this union one son was born, who died in infancy.

She united with the Baptist church when a small child but later transferred her membership to the Methodist Church of which she was an active member until failing health confined her to her home.

She departed this life July 22, 1953 at her home at the age of 74 years, 5 months and 23 days. She was preceded in death by her husband, who passed on in November, 1944. Also by 5 brothers and 3 sisters. To cherish her memory is one brother, Clyde Morey of Stunner, Wash., and a number of nieces and nephews and many friends.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. E. McPherson at the J. R. Crew Funeral Home. Burial was in Clearfield cemetery.
