Funeral services for Mrs. Samuel [Lulu Mae (CANNY)] PARRISH, 74, of Bedford, were held September 1 at Shum-Novinger Funeral Home here with Rev. Robert TRUITT officiating. Mrs. PARRISH died August 30, 1973, in West Heights Manor in Clarinda, Ia. Interment was at Fairview Cemetery, Bedford.

Lulu Mae PARRISH, daughter of Dan and Villa CANNY, was born June 19, 1899, in Ringgold County, Iowa.

On April 11, 1927 she was united in marriage with Samuel PARRISH at Clearfield, Iowa, and of this union one daughter, Louise, was born.

They lived on a farm near Clearfield for several years. In 1943 they moved to Clearfield and in 1954 she and Louise moved to Bedford, soon acquiring her present home.

She was a loyal and conscientious mother and grandmother, helping her daughter in the care of her granddaughters at all times.

Those who survive include her daughter, Louise PENNINGTON; three granddaughters, Linda, Sherry and Roberta, of Bedford; a step-son, Robert PARRISH, of Clearfield; and one sister, Lena FITCH of Clarinda, Ia.; two cousins, Tom CANNY and Mary VANDERPLUYM of Diagonal.

This kindly and thoughtful woman will be missed by her relatives and friends.
