OBITUARY ~ ANDREW FRANKLIN PARKER

Andrew Franklin PARKER, son of James and Sarah PARKER, was born near Benton, Iowa, on September 6, 1869, and died at his
home in Redding, Iowa, Friday, April 21, 1950, at the age of eighty years, seven months and fifteen days. On July 3rd, 1888,
he was united in marriage with Alice Belle ABARR. Surviving are his wife and six children, G. H., James, Inez and Ralph PARKER, and
Estella WRIGHT and Sarah TINDLE. Also surviving are eight grand children, six great grand children, and one sister,
Lizzie STEPHENS. At an early age he united with the Methodist Church at Redding, Iowa, and remained an active member
as long as his health would permit. The early part of his life was spent in teaching school. He later moved to the farm
but continued as teacher and postmaster for approximately thirty years. Oh, then what raptured greetings
On Canaan's happy shore. What knitting severed friendships Up where partings are no more. Then eyes with
joy shall sparkle, That brimmed with tears of late, Orphans no longer fatherlesss,
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Redding Methodist Church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. V. S. BOWER,
and interment was in the Redding Cemetery. Card of Thanks We wish to thank
everyone for their kindness and expressions of sympathy, beautiful flowers etc., during the illness and death of our loved
one, and especially the W.S.C.S. who so kindly and willingly prepared and served dinner for us. ~ The A. F. PARKER
