Eva L. Monk was born to Charles and Cassie Greer near Bedford, Iowa on April 25, 1903. She entered into rest September 6, 1994 at the Clearview Home in Clearfield, Iowa, at the age of 91 years, 4 months and 6 days. She made her home with her daughter, Theola, for nearly 10 years before coming a resident of Clearview home for the past 2 and a half years.

Eva attended East Mission school near Bedford. On November 19, 1922 she was united in marriage to Claude Edward Monk in Bedford. To this union were born 6 children; Cecil Edward, Darrell Eugene, Theola Marine, Ronald Edward, Phyllis Ilene and Paul Ivan. Claude passed away June 17, 1960.

Eva spent most of her life in Taylor Co. She attended the United Methodist Church as long as her health permitted. She thoroughly enjoyed attending the activities and being a member of the family at Clearview Home She spent much of her time crocheting.

Eva was preceded in death by her husband Claude in 1960, a son Cecil in 1990, a son-in-law, Lloyd Cameron in 1983, and a granddaughter Pam Gourley in 1986, 2 sisters Elsie Miller and Goldie Wood, arid a brother Perle Greer.

Surviving are her children; Darrell (wife Verla) of Clearfield, Theola Cameron of Clearfield, Ronald "Bud" (wife Bev) of Marshalltown, Phyllis (husband Jack) Gourley of Lenox, Paul (wife Barbara) of Des Moines, a daughter-in-law Bertha Monk of Boulder Co., twin sister Ava (husband Fred) Bruner of Clearfield, sister-in-law, Thelma Greer of Sacramento, Ca., 23 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the United Methodist Church, Clearfield, Friday, September 9, 2 p.m., with Rev. .Alan Rusk officiating.

Music was provided by Mrs. Erwood Huffman and Mrs. Kenny Nelson.

Casketbearers were Jim Parrish, John Parrish, Dean Lyddon, Delbert Routh, Jack Miller and Richard Spurrier. Interment was at Clearfield Cemetery. Wilson-Watson Service was in charge of arrangements.
