OBITUARY ~ SHERIDAN "LLOYD" "BUB" MILLER
April 20, 1942 ~ October 23, 2015

Sheridan Lloyd Miller, “Bub” as he is affectionately known by siblings led a full and remarkable life. He was born on April 20, 1942 and passed away on October 23, 2015. He grew up in a single family home to mother Cora Miller along with his one brother Ronald “Buck” Miller and his four sisters Martha “Sis” Miller (Williams), Rosalie “Rosey” Miller, Donna Miller and Janet “Toot” Miller (Reidy).

Lloyd, as he preferred to be called by close friends and acquaintances, left his home in Fort Wayne, IN and joined the United States Army. Soon after enlistment he was given orders assigning him to South Korea where he spent three years.

Upon returning home to Indiana and marrying he was given the inspiration of moving his family of wife Suzanne Miller (Kreiger), daughter Lisa “Woo” Miller (Boykin) and two sons Robert and Bryan Miller. After arriving in Tingley IA, Lloyd and Suzanne opened the Old Fort Cafe which operated for 10 years. In that time, Lloyd was blessed with another son James Miller. Lloyd also served as mayor of Tingley.

After closing the restaurant in Tingley, Lloyd went to work as the Kitchen Manager for Clearview Nursing Homes. Lloyd was adored by many residents and co-workers. He always went the extra mile to make something simple into something great. Lloyd will be sorely missed by everyone who had the pleasure of his company.

He was not just a husband and father but a wonderful and remarkable man all around. His memory will live on through his grandchildren: Corbin Allen Miller, Lindsey Michelle Fryback, Noah James Boykin, Brandon Michael Walls, Dustin Andrew Walls, Tristen Haze Miller, Madison Nichole Miller, Allyson Paige Miller, Emma Jayne Miller and one great grandchild Braylon Scott Fritz.

A celebration of life service will be held 10:00 am Wednesday, October 28 at the Tingley United Methodist Church in Tingley, Iowa with Rev. Bruce Giese officiating. A memorial fund has been established in his name to be decided later. Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa is in charge of Lloyd’s arrangements and online condolences maybe left at www.watsonarmstrongfh.com.
