OBITUARY ~ DWIGHT A. MOREY

Dwight A. Morey, son of Russell and Belle Smith Morey was born May 5, 1903,
south of Clearfield and passed away at sunrise Dec. 16, 1953, at his home in
East Clearfield at the age of 50 years, 7 months, 11 days.
He received his education in the rural schools and the Clearfield high school.
On Dec. 21, 1934 he was united in marriage to Miss Evelyn McMath, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Elvin McMath and they located on a farm NE of Clearfield, and
their entire married life was spent in the Clearfield community.
To this union were born three sons, James E., Edward L. and John A., and one
daughter, Myra Bell, all at home.
He united with the Baptist church when a young man and remained faithful to
his belief. Besides farming he was a promising auctioneer. He was active in
the affairs of the community and his cheerful disposition won him many
friends.
He entered the mercantile business Dec. 13, 1953 and with Mrs. Morey operated
Morey's Store.
To cherish his memory besides his wife Evelyn and the three
sons and one daughter, and 3 brothers, Harry D. of Diagonal; V. Eugene and
Russell L. of Clearfield; two sisters, Mrs. Bernice Beatty of Seymour, la.,
and Mrs. Avis Alexander of Gravity; an aunt, Mrs. Ella Fitch of Lorimor and a
brother Clyde Morey of Sumner, Wash., other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the United Presbyterian church Friday, Dec. 18
at 2 p. m. Interment in Clearfield cemetery.
