The Mount Ayr Record-News, 1926 OBITUARY - JAMES MILLIKIN.
James MILLIKIN was born at County Ant Rim, Ireland, March 18, 1842, and died January 28, 1926, at the age of 83 years, ten
months and ten days. Mr. MILLIKIN came to America at the age of 35, locating at Mount Ayr where he lived for a number of years.
In 1906 he moved to the farm near Diagonal where he lived until his death. On December 4, 1884, he was married to Elizabeth
LOVE. To this union five children were born - James who died February 25, 1921; Robert, now residing at Shannon City, Iowa; Jesse J.,
of Trail, British Colombia; William of Cody City, Wyo.; and Samuel, of Diagonal, who resides with his parents and Martin LOVE,
of Hatfield, Mo. He has a brother and a sister now residing in Ireland. "To the hearts that father's going make lonely
Come the whisper of tender love.
Weep not, for my passing, my children
For father will be waiting above."
Funeral services were held at the United Presbyterian church in Mount Ayr Monday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. W. L.
THORNBURG, and the burial was in Rose Hill cemetery [Mount Ayr].
