OBITUARY- PAULINE (WILLEY) DEEMER McCUTCHAN

Pauline McCUTCHAN, 91, of Mount Ayr, Iowa, passed away on May 29, 2010 at Clearview Home in Mount Ayr. Mrs. McCUTCHAN was cremated and graveside services are private.

Pauline McCUTCHAN, daughter of Willard R. & Maud E. (RUSK) WILLEY, was born July 19, 1918 in Mount Ayr, Iowa. Pauline received her education in Mount Ayr. She gave her life to Christ at an early age. Following her graduation from Mount Ayr High School, Pauline worked for Art & Bertha HOLLAND at the Mount Ayr Hotel. In December 1939, Pauline married Frank DEEMER. She was a mother of three children; Franklin Dean, William Evan, and Beverly Ann.

Pauline was a faithful farm wife and she had a big garden; helping with the chores, working in the field, as well as being a mother and homemaker. Pauline would also become a Tupperware dealer in 1972. She was very successful at this for several years. She also worked at the Shamrock Café.

Pauline would later move to Creston, Iowa and in 1988, she married Boyce M. McCUTCHAN, a railroad engineer. She often spoke of the few years they had together as the happiest years of her life as Boyce passed away in 1992.

Pauline leaves to honor her memory a son Franklin Dean DEEMER of Marion, Iowa and a daughter Beverly GILLISPIE of Reo, MO; four grandsons and seven great-grandchildren; a brother Gerold (Jean) WILLEY of Mount Ayr; and several nieces & nephews including Kim WEEHLER of Mount Ayr whom maintained a special relationship with her.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; a son William Evan; twin grandchildren Tina Ann & Tracy Lee GILLISPIE; and her siblings Clair & wife Lucille WILLEY, Maxine KIMBALL, Lola HAILEY, Elma MOORE, and Iona WILLEY as a young teenager.

Pauline always felt that friends were a gift from God; that you had to be a friend to have friends. She had some very special friends that were very dear to her heart.

Arrangements were handled by Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home of Mount Ayr.

Private graveside services wre held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Mount Ayr on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, with Rev. Chis CONKLIN officiating.

Remember

When you remember me it means that you have carried something of who I am with you, that I have left some mark of who I am on who you are.

Everything remains exactly as it was - I am I and you are you and the life we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.

Whatever we were to each other that we are still. Call me by the old familiar name. Speak of me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference in your tone. Wear no forced air of solemity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.

Play. Smile. Think of me. Pray for me. Let my name be spoken without an effort. It means that even after I die you can still see my face and hear my voice and speak to me in your heart. For as long as you remember me I am never entirely lost.

I shall remember you for I carry something of who you are with me. You have left some mark of who you are on who I am. I am grateful to have journeyed with you for the few short years that we had together.

~ Pauline McCutchan.
