Houston F. MAIN, 73, of Amarillo [Texas], died Thursday, Oct. 6, 1994. Services will be at 2 p. m. Monday in Memorial
Park Funeral Home Chapel of memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Alden WHITE officiating. Burial will be out of town at a
later date [Clearfield Cemetery, Ringgold County, Iowa]. Mr. MAIN was born in Mount Ayr, Iowa. He married Verla [Dean]
NEVILLE [on September 4] 1943 at Orlando, Fla. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the Army Air Corps in the
Western Pacific Campaign. he receved a Bronze Star and the Good Conduct Medal. Mr. MAIN came to Amarillo in 1978 from
New Franklin, Mo. He was a tool and die-maker with McGraw-Edison. He was a Methodist. Survivors include his wife; a son,
E. E. [Ellis Eugene, born February 10, 1945] "Skip" MAIN of Amarillo; a sister, Shirley YOUNG of Creston, Iowa; and a grandson [Brent Eugene MAIN, born April 25,
1970, Amarillo, TX]. the family requests memorials be to the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Amarillo or Make-A-Wish
Foundation in Amarillo.
NOTE: Houston F. MAIN was the grandson of Ella (SHAFFER) and Samuel "Floyd" MAIN
of Beaconsfield, Ringgold County, Iowa; the son of Forest Floyd MAIN (1892-1975) and Lela E. MAIN (1895-1991).
