Ringgold Record, 1882

Ellis (Elles on gravestone) LOVE died Sunday morning last [March 26, 1882], after a lingering illness of some months. He was a member of the I.O.O.F.'s of this city, in good standing, and in his death the brotherhood sustain a severe loss. His life was insured in a brotherhood company, and in the Western Mutual Aid Society of Des Moines, and thus assures his dear ones of something providing for the future. He leaves a wife and little one to mourn their loss, besides a large circle of relatives and sympathizing friends. He was buried Monday afternoon with the honors of Odd Fellowship, and followed by a large concourse of citizens.

NOTE: Elles LOVE was born in 1846 and died at the age of 35. He was interred at Oak Ridge Cemetery near Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa.
