Ringgold Record, 1887

Died, at his residence southwest of Kellerton, March 30, of pneumonia, Campbell LAIRD, aged 69 years, 2 months and 26 days.

Mr. LAIRD was born in Virginia in January, 1818 and was married Dec. 28, 1837, to Cassie CAGG. In 1865 he moved with his family to Iowa and settled in Ringgold Co., where they have since lived.

Mr. LAIRD had nine children seven of whom are still living. The funeral service was conducted at the LAIRD residence by Rev. E. E. WILLEY, of Kellerton.

The loss has been a great one to the community as well as to Mr. LAIRD's family. He was a devoted husband and father, and was highly esteemed as a christian and citizen.

NOTE: Cassander "Cassie" (CAGG), wife of Campbell LAIRD died on May 30, 1901, at the age of 79 years, 6 months and 11 days with interment at Tedrow Cemetery near Kellerton, Ringgold County, Iowa.
