Mrs. Mary Calkin Knox, long time resident of Taylor County was born September 14, 1873 at Hamilton, Ill. She passed away at her home in Lenox on January 25, 1959 at the age of 85 years, 4 months and 11 days. She was the daughter of Henry and Mary Calkin. At the age of 9 years she came with her parents to a farm near Conway where she lived until her marriage to Howard Knox on December 13, 1896.

To this union were born 4 children. Two sons, Raub and Clifford preceded their mother in death. Surviving are her husband, two daughters Mrs Evelyn Stephens of Clearfield and Miss Winifred Knox of the home, two grandchildren, Ivan and Enid Stephens: also three brothers, Boyd of Billings, Mont, Archie and Orlando of Clearfield and 3 sisters Mrs Dollie Harden of White Hall, Mont.,Estella Van Houten of Los Angeles, Cal., and Mrs Hattie Knox of Clearfield. Three sisters have preceded her in death.

She was a member of Greenwood Church for many years,transferring her membership to Clearfield Methodist Church when the Greenwood congregation disbanded. She was a member of Greenwood Ladies Society attending when ever able. She will be greatly missed by a host of relatives and friends.

Services were held January 27, at the funeral home in Clearfield, Rev Howard Ball officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs Joan Owens, accompanied by Mrs Vivia Mahoney.

Burial was in Clearfield Cemetery.
