OBITUARY ~ EARNEST HUBER

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Aug. 80 at Wilson-Watson Funeral Home,
Clearfield, for Earnest Huber, 92, who died Aug. 27 at Lenox Care Center. He
had been ill for some time.
The Rev. Shirley Lockard officiated and interment was in Clearfield Cemetery.
Earnest Huber was born May 17, 1894, near Lenox, son of Bruno and Mona Burrell
Huber. He and Nellie Kerns were married Nov. 10, 1915 in Sharpsburg. He was a
retired farmer and had been a resident of Taylor and Ringgold counties his
entire life. He was a member of the Christian Church.
He leaves his wife, Nellie, of Lenox; three sons, Duane of Lenox, Cecil of
Savannah, Mo., and Dale of Creston; three daughters, Opal Day of Gravity,
Helen Volberecth of Omaha and Wauneta Cracraft of Eagleville, Mo.; a
daughter-in-law, Gladys Huber of Lenox; 24 grandchildren, 37 great
grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Earnest Huber, 92, were held Aug. 30 at Wilson-Watson
Funeral Home in Clearfield, the Rev. Shirley Lockard
officiating. Burial was in Clearfield Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons,
Gary Day, Harold, John, Melvin and Wayne Huber and Cecil Cracroft.
Mr. Huber died Aug. 27 at Lenox Care Center, where he had made his home since
June of 1984.
He and his wife, the former Nellie Leona Kerns, whom he wed Nov. 10, 1915,
celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary at the care center last year. She
moved to the center in June, 1984, also.
Mr. Huber was born on a farm near Lenox May 17, 1894, son of Bruno and Mona
Burrell Huber.
He and his wife farmed in Taylor County for many years. They moved to a farm
east of Diagonal in 1941, then moved into Diagonal in 1965, residing there
until they moved to the care center.
Mr. Huber joined the Christian Church in Lenox at an early age, later
transferring his membership to the Diagonal Christian Church, where he
remained a faithful member while his health permitted.
His greatest joy was his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; several brothers and sisters; a son,
Darrell; granddaughter, Joyce Day, and three grandsons, Robert Huber, Gale and
Lyle Day.
