OBITUARY ~ CLYDE WILLIAM HORTON

Clyde William Horton, son of John and Carrie May Horton, was born in
Nevinville, Ia., on Aug 7, 1889, and passed away at his home to Clearfield
Oct. 28,
1963. Death came to him easily and peacefully.
He united with the Christian Church in Clearfield in 1907 and lived a life of
service to family and friends.
Sept. 1, 1908, he was united in marriage to Mabel Moore To this union were
born five children, Carlos (Bill), Carroll (Pete), Mrs. John Duey (Helen Lou)
all of Clearfield, Mrs. Raymond Trost (Isabel) Lenox, and Mary Mae, who died in
infancy.
With the exception of one year in South Dakota, they lived on farms near
Clearfield and Bedford, then for 20 years on a farm near Shannon City, after
that moving in to town to run a locker for one year. They retired and moved to
Clearfield in 1957.
Left to mourn his passing are his devoted wife Mabel, the 4 children, two
brothers, Guy and Floyd, one sister, Madge Reynard, 13 grandchildren, 17
great grandchildren.
Pa, as he was known, had many friends and was a kind and loving father.
Funeral services were Thursday afternoon from the Clearfield Christian Church,
with Rev. Harvey Ruegsegger and Rev. Herbert Phillips officiating.
Six grandsons were casket bearers, John, Robert, Vernon and Jerry Horton, Mike
and Randy Trost. He was laid to rest in the Clearfield cemetery.
