OBITUARY ~ W. C. KOBBE

Wilbur C. KOBBE, son of Charles Laurence and Thurza TURNBULL KOBBE, was born February 12, 1907, in Clinton township,
Ringgold county, and passed away February 24, 1959, at the age of 52 years and 12 days. Mr. KOBBE entered military
service on March 25, 1942, and was discharged September 14, 1945. He served two years and 22 days in the States and
one year, four months and 29 days overseas. He was a member of 617 C. A. HERRINGTON Post, Redding. On December 8, 1915,
he was united in marriage with Leucena I. STILL, and this union was blessed with two daughters, Anna Mae, 12, and Mary
Beth, 8. He was mechanically minded and made many friends through his work. He will be greatly missed in the home and
by his loved ones. Left to cherish his memory are the widow and daughters; his parents; two sisters, Alta Mae
JEANES, of Redding, and Doris Beth BOULTON, of Breckenridge, Mo.; four brothers, Howard of Carroll, Charles Ivan of Grant
City, Mo., Gomer Ross of Salix, and James L. of Douglas, Kansas, and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services
were held Februray 26, from the Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Chapel in Mount Ayr, conducted by the Rev. John M. LATTA of Orient, and
military graveside services were held. Casketbearers were Carl HOLLAND, Gene MILLER, Lyle CAVIN, Max WARDEN, Denzil WALKER
and Maurice HUNT. Interment was in the Redding cemetery. Relatives from a distance who attended the services were
Mrs. Stella EVANS and Wayne, of Lynden, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. George G. EVANS, of Des Moines, Mrs. Florence TURNBULL, daughter,
Mrs. Alice WHITE, and son, John TURNBULL of Tarkio, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. Keith TURNBULL, of Oregon, Mo., Vance TURNBULL
and Mr. and Mr.s Max HERRINGTOn, of Benton, Chester and Kenneth CAYLOR, of Chariton, Mr. and Mrs. Weldon CORTNER and
Frank KOBBE, of St. Joseph, Mo., and daughters, Viola and Wilma, of Sheridan, Mo., and nieces, nephews and cousins from
the Redding, Grant City and Sheridan vicinities. [Interment at Redding Cemetery.]
